Yonex Introduces On-Site PPA at Tennis Ball Factory in Thailand to Advance Carbon Neutrality

CHONBURI, Thailand – Yonex Co., Ltd. is proud to announce that it has introduced renewable energy through an on-site Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) *1 beginning in October 2025 at its tennis ball manufacturing subsidiary, YONEX TECNIFIBRE CO., LTD. in Thailand, as part of its effort to achieve carbon neutrality.
A third-party power producer, Energreen Asia Company Ltd., has installed solar panels on the factory premises and supplies the renewable electricity to the facility. The renewable energy generated by a solar power plant (total solar panel capacity: 874.2kW) will cover approximately 26% of the factory’s electricity consumption, resulting in an estimated annual reduction of 410 tons of CO2 emissions*2.
This initiative aligns with the "Carbon Neutrality" pillar of the "Yonex Environmental Vision 2050." Yonex has been steadily advancing its efforts toward carbon neutrality, including the introduction of non-fossil certificates and off-site PPAs, and will continue to expand the use of renewable energy and promote carbon neutrality across its supply chain.
*1: On-site PPA refers to an agreement in which a third-party power producer installs renewable energy facilities on a company’s premises, and the company purchases the electricity and its associated environmental value from those facilities.
*2: Based on Yonex research.
