Electricity use at 6 domestic offices and factories switched to substantial renewable energy
TOKYO, Japan － Yonex Co., Ltd switched approximately 10.59 million kWh of electricity use at six domestic offices and factories to renewable energy by purchasing FIT non-fossil certificates with tracking information*. This reduced CO2 emissions by approximately 4,000 tons in 2022.
Yonex targets to reduce scope 1 and 2 CO2 emissions by 50% from 2016 levels by 2030. *Including overseas subsidiaries
This switchover resulted in a 37% reduction in CO2 emissions in 2022 compared to 2016. Taking this as the first step, we will continue to work on introducing renewable energy in various ways. Furthermore, we will promote the calculation and reduction of scope 3 CO2 emissions, which includes emissions from our supply chain, in addition to our business locations, to achieve decarbonization throughout our business activities.
*FIT non-fossil certificates with tracking information: certificates issued by extracting the "non-fossil value" of electricity generated from non-fossil sources such as solar, wind, hydro, geothermal, and biomass, with tracking information such as the power source type and the power plant location.

Yonex sustainability efforts
We are promoting our actions under "Sustainability at Yonex," our vision and principles for sustainability. This is based on our company philosophy, "Craft a better future with unique innovations," and consists of four pillars of unparalleled craftsmanship, spread and development of global sports, human rights and diversity, and cooperation with all stakeholders. We established "Sustainability Committee” in 2022, and our initiatives are led by three working groups (environment, supply chain, diversity) under the committee.
